24th Aug Cape Upstart to Jonah Bay 58nm

There were a number of yachts and catamarans in the bay when we arrived last night but when we woke they were all gone.

What did they know that we didn’t.

We pulled the anchor and made our way out of Cape Upstart and could see a few of the yachts on the AIS and they were approx. 6nm ahead of us which meant they all left an hour earlier.

Leaving Cape Upstart with Isabella

It was another day of motoring with virtually no wind and it became a glassy sea around lunch time.

Motoring past Abbot Point Coal Loader

I had the lines out and caught a good spotted mackerel.

Tonights beach BBQ

I raised Isabella on the radio and suggested we have a beach BBQ this evening. They agreed.

No wind came and the sea became very calm.

Gloucester Island

We went ashore at 4.30pm after arriving at around 3pm. We had a lovely walk on the beach and then built a fire so we could sit around and eat our BBQ fish dinner.
Beach Dinner

It was very pleasant but returned to the yacht a little bit smoky.
