25th Aug Hazard Bay

After a big day yesterday no one wanted to do much. It was a lazy day on the beach lying in the sun and looking up at the clouds. Clouds come in all shapes and sizes and it is fun to make images in the mind of cloud shapes. This one did not need much imagination. There is a heart shape reef similar to this on the Great Barrier Reef.  A perfect match.
As we were lying on the beach looking at the sky this cloud floated past
We love Orpheus Island and the coconut lined beach at Hazard Bay so when the cloud passed it was an appropriate symbol. When the tide is high it is a great beach for swimming and relaxing on the sand. We spent the morning and a bit of the afternoon on the beach and had a late lunch on the yacht. A few maintenance chores had to be completed and then I was allowed to go for fishing. Fishing was slow until on dusk I managed a coral trout and an emperor which made the effort worthwhile. Everyone was feeling a little lazy for the day but we managed sundowners with Graham and Leanne and ate dinner and read a book.

When they went back to their yacht they let us know that whales were just at the back of their yacht.
We could not see them but we could hear them through the hull. The sound was incredible. They kept us awake most of the night with their whale songs. They must have camped in the bay very near us for the night as the sounds were incredibly loud. It made Tamara very nervous hence she did not sleep well. Me, I just snored through the night!!
