16th August Townsville to Horseshoe Bay 12nm

After completing the final provisioning we were full of food, water and diesel to hopefully be self supporting for the next 15 days or so.

We departed the marina at 3.30 pm on the rising tide and arrived at Horseshoe Bay just before the sunset. We joined Clem and Marg on SuperNova for sundowners and exchanged many stories about the Bavaria 44’s as SupaNova is a sister ship to Billabong. In fact SupaNova was chartered by our friends Graham and Leanne for Graham’s 50th birthday at Orpheus Island 7 years ago.  We are rendezvousing with Graham and Leanne on Echo Beach in a few days time to celebrate his 57^th Birthday.

After a lengthy drink we were back on Billabong and cooked a very quick dinner and had an early night.
