8th June Roslyn Bay to Pearl Bay 51nm

Had a very nice and peaceful sleep in. The marina was not very full and there was peace and quiet which made for a pleasurable stay. After breakfast on the boat we went up for a very good quality coffee at the Waterline Restaurant in the morning sun before departing for Pearl Bay.

No wind of any note so had to motor all the way to Pearl Bay. 10 knot southerlies would have taken us all day and night to get there. Lost a very big fish on the way. Did not get a look at it but it took off with one of my best catching lures. Had very sharp teeth whatever it was as it bit through the 200lb nylon leader. Oh well that’s fishing.

Arrived at 4.30pm just in time to watch the sunset and have a shower and a cold beer.

Pearl bay is one of the prettiest anchorages and it is rare to be able to stay overnight without a swell rolling in and making it uncomfortable to sleep. But we have hit the jackpot and it was a very calm and beautiful evening.
