1st to 3rd June Bundaberg Port Marina

We sheltered in Port Bundaberg Marina for 4 nights. Most of the nights were very cold with a chilling southerly wind at night but sunny during the day.
To be occupied we hired a car for 2 days and drove to the historic town of Maryborough. Fascinating history especially the fact that they built quite large ships there for over 70 years until 1974 floods wiped out the industry.
Also another historical fact was the author of Mary Poppins lived here and this is where the musical was created.

The small mac tuna caught on the way from Sandy Cape became crab bait. I have previously caught mud crabs under the yacht in the marina. This time only one crab was eaten. The rest were too small.
One sweet mud crab. Delicious.

After 4 nights we were ready to depart first thing in the morning to Pancake Creek.
