We woke to a very still morning and as soon as the sun was
up the temperature rose quickly. It was time to leave the marina and head
south. After a few boat chores were completed we were on our way in the very
light winds. We had the current with us and covered the 35nm with only 31nm
showing on the log. We saved a few miles with the current assisting us.
We anchored on the southern side of Thomas Island which has a beautiful sandy bay with fringing reefs on each side. This beach is a rarity on most of the islands as it can be accessed in all tides.
On route we past Pentecost Island named by James Cook as he sailed past in 1770.

After a swim it was time for 5 o’clock drinks, the evening
meal and an early night.
