We could not get out of Pearl bay quick enough. At first
light we were up and ready to raise the anchor. As soon as Graham had raised
his dinghy onto the foredeck we departed. The wind was reasonable strength and
we looked like being able to sail all the way. This proved short lived as the
wind slowly died and we had to motor into Roslyn Bay marina. I managed to catch
a spotted mackerel on the way and that was filleted and placed in the freezer
as we had better plans for dinner.
On the way Billabong achieved another milestone – the
log turned over 10,000 nautical miles. That distance is equal to one and a
third times around Australia’s coast line. Not a bad effort as the yacht is 9 years old
While refueling at the Fisherman's co-op we purchased some Moreton bay bugs and a kilo of prawns. Echo Beach pulled in straight after us for refueling and they did the same. That evening we sat on a Billabong and ate seafood and drank white wine. It was another great seafood dinner consumed by the crew of Billabong and Echo Beach.
Another seafood feast!!!
The next morning it was boat chores and re provisioning. Graham hired a car and shared it with us to complete the provisioning. It was only a small car so Graham and Leanne used it in the morning and we had it in the afternoon.
Tamara made up a display of her coral collectables
At 5.30pm we met up with another yacht in the Coral Coast
cruise to have the rendezvous in Roslyn Bay after which we went to a nearby
restaurant called Beaches Bistro and all had excellent meals.
Tamara and I returned to the yacht early and made final preparations
for our early morning departure to Pancake Creek
